Rediset cement is cement developed by Associated Cement Company of India as equivalent cement to Regset cement developed by PCA laboratories of USA.
Most of the high early strength cements, though successful in gaining strength in early stages, show signs of deterioration and retrogression in hot and humid weathers and conditions. A new product was needed which could work for speedy repairs as well as precast concrete members and slip-formwork concrete, etc.
Hence, investigations were conducted for development of cement which could yield higher strength in early stages (almost in hours after placing of concrete) without showing signs of deteriorations and retrogression. Regset cement was developed as a result of these investigations.

Properties of Rediset Cement
- The Rediset cement has a handling time window of just about 8 to 10 minutes.
- The strength pattern of Rediset cement mortar or concrete is similar to that of OPC mortar or concrete after 1 or 3 days of placing.
- The strength which can be achieved with Rediset concrete in 3 to 6 hours of placing can be achieved by OPC concrete in only after 7 days.
- Rediset has advantage in winter concreting as it generates a large amount of heat of hydration during hydration of cement, but this liberation of heat in excess amounts render it useless for mass concreting.
- Rate of shrinkage of Rediset cement is fast but the total shrinkage is similar to that of Ordinary Portland Cement.
- Rediset cement has very poor sulphate resistance.
Application of Rediset Cement
- It gains really high strength very early ( in about 3 to 6 hours) for mortar and concrete mixes
- It is very useful for patch repairs and emergency repairs
- In precast concrete industry, it enables quick release of the formworks
- It is useful in slip-formwork concrete constructions
- Palletisation of iron ore dust
- It can be used for construction in coastal areas between tides
